Woodlea Gardens is a lovely, historic home in northwest Marion County, Florida, set among giant oak trees and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Established in 1903 by grandparents of the present owners, Martha Jane and Doug Davis, Woodlea can accommodate groups from the small and intimate, to dinner parties of 50-75, to weddings of 200. Board and club meetings, seminars and retreats, will find a private, quiet setting with pastoral views of the 28 acres. There are several sites for wedding ceremonies and a perfect expanse of the lawn for large tents, overlooking the south pasture. We have ample space for cars and buses and offer valet parking. Woodlea is easily found, just off exit 368 of I-75, midway between Ocala and Gainesville.
Martha Jane owned Woodlea Gardens Catering for 25 years and offers her experience, expertise, and good taste to all who schedule events here. The house itself offers a beautiful, traditional backdrop that causes you to step back into a place in the past.
The stunning dining room can seat up to 18 people at the large table for formal dinners and lunches, and is a fabulous setting for buffets at larger events. Living rooms, sun rooms, and porches offer many options for setting up showers, cocktail parties, birthday celebrations, and memorial gatherings. An outside covered area will accommodate seating 60-80 people. Woodlea’s tables and chairs are available for this area. A large terrace overlooks the south pasture. It is here that you get the full effect of the view, the ancient oaks, and the gardens.
Our two Bed and Breakfast suites are available at reduced rates in conjunction with venue rental. They function perfectly as bridal parties’ dressing rooms and have doors leading out to ceremony sites.
